I just had to get this flyover as it was one of the rare moments that the clouds let the blue sky show. I love that little bit of light on the front edge of the leading wing giving this image dimension and definition.

Piercing the Mississippi Mist

Here is a bald eagle sailing just above the Mississippi River among the mist looking for the opportunity to fish. I will admit that I wasn't sure there would be a keeper during some of the foggy conditions but I was pleasantly surprised when I uploaded the images to my computer. Profile of an Eagle Flyby

I was treated to this close-up flyby of an eagle with a fish under the tail feathers. Once again, no blue skies but beggars can't be choosers. The moment was pretty awesome so I can't complain.

A Beautiful Catch

My creative edit of a bald eagle making a beautiful catch from the Mississippi River. The skies were gray, the water was white, but the eagle was too beautiful not to try adding a little creativity to the scene. I feel this edit adds to the elegance of the bird.

Fishing Through the Sea Smoke

I love the atmosphere of this image. While far from perfect shooting conditions, the "sea smoke" that covered that covered the river added to the image making these moment all that more magical.
