Beautiful Eagle Dive

One of the rare moments that the sun tried to peak through the clouds while an eagle was active and I was ready with the camera. Thankfully the eagle gave me a nice bank and dive at the perfect angle to light up the wings and the treeline across the river. Love when they turn and start into a dive.

The moment of truth for this young eagle as he lunges for a fish in the icy cold Mississippi River. I went with a silhouette black and white edit to isolate the importance of this single moment for an eagle's survival during the winter months.
