I'm pretty excited about this image. It is probably, technically, my best hummingbird image to date. This was taken this morning with natural morning light and handheld with my Canon 7d and 400mm lens. I love the way the sunlight casts across this colorful barn swallow as he takes a break from his constant patrolling of bugs in the open fields. They are awesome to observe flying inches above the ground and other structures.
