Patience....patience is the lesson behind this image. I went straight to the big cats enclosure on this cool, seasonal day at Brookfield Zoo in hopes of finding Zenda, the lion, up and moving around. An image of the solar eclipse on August 21st, 2017 as seen over Bloomington, IL. Unfortunately we had some clouds and rain in the forecast so I didn't get images earlier on during the event, which I regret. However, I did manage this image as the moon continued to pass by the sun. I still love this image and the experience. The universe is amazing!...

The giraffe at Brookfield were feeling quite sassy with many faces being made. They are truly one of the most majestic animals to view in person and stand by. They are my wife's favorite animal to see at the zoo.
