The King of BrookfieldPatience....patience is the lesson behind this image. I went straight to the big cats enclosure on this cool, seasonal day at Brookfield Zoo in hopes of finding Zenda, the lion, up and moving around. Unfortunately, both Zenda and Isis, were sleeping as usual. We moved on and visited the rest of the zoo. I had plans to visit them before we left for a second chance and we did just that but, again, they were sleeping in a different location. My wife took the kids to the gift shop while I kept hopeful. Eventually Isis woke up and sat regally but Zenda was still resting. After about 30 more minutes, Zenda showed signs of movement. He woke, stood, and stretched but then moved to the tunnel leading to their indoor enclosure. I waited another 15 minutes or so and finally he came out. He looked out at the zoo goers and gave us all this majestic roar and look. Wow, you can almost feel the roar looking at this image. It was worth the wait!
