The Harbor Seals weren't as plentiful as the Sea Otters, but they were there and looking very plump as they depend on their blubber to protect from the cold waters. Alaska has a way of making one feel small. I was trying to capture this image of the massive mountains of trees. Imagine waking up, walking out of your cruise ship room, and heading up to the viewing deck on the first day of the cruise to see the doors open to this view. Many of the days were cloud-covered, foggy, and filled with sea mist. While this affected the sharpness to some degree, I would take this mood and atmosphere every single time. What a scene!...
