This female bufflehead flew out of the cove as I approached it. She startled me as much as I startled her. She took off and was moving fast. I was impressed that I could get several images in focus. I liked her wing positions in this image.

I spent a good 20 minutes watching and photographing this red tailed hawk stalk a vole, catch it, eat it, and pose. Nature is the ultimate therapy.

This was the first time I have ever seen a horned grebe. While trying to get shots of a common loon, this horned grebe swam by and I was surprised. Of course they were both further out than I wanted (always seems to be the case) so I didn't get as crisp of an image as I had hoped, but with it being my first I really wanted to share.
