I was able to sneak this image of an American Bald Eagle trying to eat mid-flight behind extended wings. I don't blame these eagles for eating quick...there are usually other eagle eyes eyeing their catch.

I can't express how much fun it is to leave early in the morning with the hope of seeing, let alone photographing, these eagles in action. Then getting back home and loading the raw files into lightroom and editing them is an absolute treat. I've edited hundreds of images from the 2 days I went to see these birds in January and I still have several...

Today felt like a good day for a moody, yet brilliant black and white edit. The shadows add a little mood to the face of this eagle in flight with just a bit of sun catching enough of the eye to light it up.
