Fishing Along the Banks of the Mississippi

It was a long and very cold day today photographing the bald eagles. The lighting wasn't good most of the day and the eagles were fishing much of the open water instead of closer to shore. The number of geese were unreal at Lake Evergreen last week. It amazes me that these birds can handle the winters like they do. These birds were flying across the lake to join the hundreds of geese on the opposite shoreline. I like the symmetry of the two birds in the middle. Follow me on Facebook!

Winter Geese

I have a new lens to play with and this was one of my first images with it. It is the 400mm f/5.6. It will be a great addition for my wildlife photography. This image isn't cropped at all! I was able to fill the frame with these geese. It gives the sense that you are there with the geese as they are flying off. I love the background colors and blur...
