Fishing Along the Banks of the Mississippi
Fishing Along the Banks of the MississippiIt was a long and very cold day today photographing the bald eagles. The lighting wasn't good most of the day and the eagles were fishing much of the open water instead of closer to shore. That is until about 30 minutes left and during the best light of the day. At about 2:00 the sun came out after a terribly gray, cloudy day. And at about 3:00-3:30 the eagles finally started fishing close enough for me to get some photos. I guess freezing by butt off in near -20 windchills finally paid off. This adult bald eagle is showing off his freshly dinner. Exposing this image can be tricky due to the bird's white head and the white snow in the background. I shoot everything in manual so when a bird goes from shade to open sun, I have to do my best with my settings on the fly (no pun intended).
