Basking Dragonfly
Basking DragonflyThis is a 12-spotted skimmer. I do appreciate their beauty as they hop from stalk to stem across the open Illinois fields and water banks. There are so many varieties and colors that and at one point I was surrounded by them. I just sat down and enjoyed watching them for a bit.

So I'm not very good at identifying dragonflies and damselflies, so if any of you can help me out, I'd appreciate it.
