A Pelican PortraitThis is an image I wanted to get before I set out to photograph these pelicans. I've seen several images with the Pelican's mussed up hair and they always brought a smile to my face, so I just had to try to get that pose. I was lucky to catch one looking in my direction. This was still early in the morning and the sun was just starting to light up the Pelicans leaving the shore behind in darker shadows. I love the result, which helps seclude the bright white pelicans against the dark background. I hope you all enjoy these images as much as I enjoyed taking them.
