Don't Worry; Be Happy Don't Worry; Be Happy

As you can tell by most of my images that I enjoy the outdoors and wildlife, but when the winter "blahs" kick in I still try to improve my photography/creativity skills.  I set up a table in my basement with my strobe and flash flanking on either side.  I've had a few macro shots in mind for my Canon 100mm f/2.8L macro lens.  For this image, I used a piece of glass,which I cleaned and sprayed with rainx.  I then cleaned the glass again followed by a few spritzes of water.  I tried photographing various objects below the glass to get this effect while my flashes were firing.  They turned out okay but not exactly what I was looking for.  I then had the idea of using my iPhone under the glass.  Because the iPhone is backlit I didn't need to use my flash.  I had my camera on a tripod so I could get by with a slower shutter speed and was able to get this image.  I plan to try more images like this using our iPad as well.  It is through playing around with my camera and using the tools I own to come up with images like the one above.  I hope you enjoyed it and learned a little.  Feel free to find this image in my gallery to explore my other settings and post your comments and questions.
