A Bald Eagle extending out to grab a shad he spotted in the late afternoon Sun on the Mississippi River. Not every shot can be up close, but that doesn't mean you can't capture a dramatic moment. Putting on the Brakes

This is an image that I've really wanted to capture ever since seeing these birds fly to and away from these trees. Many times I'm just at the wrong angle or the light isn't good. This is the closest that I've come to what I've pictured in my mind.

Golden Hour Bald Eagle

Capturing this moment at the perfect time of day with the warm golden hour sun felt really good. The light couldn't have been more perfect. I was ready with my rented lens, correct camera settings, and 7D autofocus set. I've learned so much about photography and it was great being able to apply that knowledge to produce a shot like this.
