Tree Swallows Sunning on a Limb

Check out the way these tree swallows glisten in the sun. When they finally sit still for a moment, you can really observe their awesome beauty. I had a nice angle to get them on this limb from the bank with the water as a backdrop. The image turned out quite pretty.

Posing Swamp Sparrow

I have several images of this, surprisingly, photogenic swam sparrow. Usually these little sparrows stay burrowed in along the banks of the water and I see them for split seconds but this one actually came out to pose a few times. I will share more as I edit them. Tree Swallow on the Move

I love this time of year and the tree swallow is one of the reasons. I love when they return to the downed trees around the lake looking for places to nest and prepare for spring. I sat with about 20 of them today for a good hour today watching them dart around and catch bugs. They are fast and beautiful. Catching them in flight isn't easy.

Scoter with Scaups

I may need help with identifying this bird in front. I believe this is a Surf Scoter? I believe the other two are Lesser Scaups? When I look up Surf Scoter's I show them mostly in Canada and the North East. This was a first for me.
