I was able to escape for a little camera time this evening after school. I decided to venture out to the Mackinaw River as I remember seeing a couple of eagles fly over last time I was there, and I was hoping maybe I could get some birds in better light. I was treated to 4 bald eagles perched in a tree...2 mature and 2 juveniles. Unfortunately I couldn't get as close as I wanted and the angle and lighting wasn't ideal, but that didn't stop me from enjoying watching them fly around, talk to each other and perch in the tree. This is probably my favorite image of one of the males taking off form the tree. I wish I had the sun behind me to illuminate the face but I just love the pose. It was so nice seeing some eagles in Central Illinois.
