I went out today (August 1st) in an attempt to get some nice images of this fast moving little bird. I was rewarded by seeing lots of hummingbirds zipping here and there. My goal was to try to get at least a few images of the bird in its natural habitat and drinking from flowers. I did get several images on and around feeders, which is fun, but finding them on a flower in an open field is always more desirable of an image in my mind. The only problem...it is like finding a needle in a haystack sometimes. Once you find one on a plant, you have to be ready! I was able to make the most out of the few opportunities I got. Here is one image from today of a Ruby Throated Hummingbird approaching wildflowers for a drink.
