Sure, it misses its fair share, but I find I have more keepers than not just based on how well it can grab focus. These barn swallows are fast and focusing on a subject coming right at you is one of the hardest tasks for any camera. I was pretty amazed at how well it did in this situation. This barn swallow was returning to the nest, which I was standing right under and didn't realize until this bird flew right at me. After grabbing this image, I made sure to keep a distance so I didn't disturb the nest.
