Palm Warbler with a CatchI enjoyed an afternoon hike today at Schroeder Nature Sanctuary. A day when most of my hiking spots are populated with it being Saturday and beautiful out, I thought Schroeder would be nice and quiet...and it was. I was immersed in color and beauty as soon as I hit the trail. The birds' songs were amazing and the colors from the the trees, wildflowers, and the birds, themselves, were captivating. The image below is just a sample of what I was able to observe. It wasn't always easy to see these small, colorful warblers with all of the beautiful colors of the trees and flowers. I had to keep a very close eye on the trail ahead of me for movement and be very quiet. I was able to sneak up on this beautiful palm warbler. Not too often do I get an image where I am happy with the background and nothing is obstructing the view (limb, leaf, etc.)...oh and the light is exquisite! Not only did I get the perfect conditions, but I photographed this warbler with his catch, which I didn't even notice until I could see the image on my computer monitor. Needless to say, this image brings a huge smile to my face and I hope you all enjoy it too.
