Warm Colors on a Cold DayI love the earthy tones my images; they give the viewer a sense of warmth and comfort. The shooting conditions; however, are anything but warm and comfortable. It was in the single digit temps this particular day with windchills in the negatives. The birds don't seem to mind at all. Sometimes they even wade in the shallows or perch on the ice. You can sometimes see ice forming on their feathers. It is amazing that they can have the energy to go get these fish in the freezing cold water and winds, but they do it easily. As for me, I dress in layers, take breaks, and pick up McD's hot chocolate before the 2 hour drive back home.
