Juvenile Showing Good FormWatching the juvenile's fish can be entertaining. Their catch rate isn't always as high as the mature bald eagles. I saw a juvenile take about 4 passes at the same fish. Right after that a mature bald eagle swooped in and grabbed the fish. The juvenile then chased him back to a tree chirping the whole way. It was like the adult eagle was saying, "that's how it is done son". Some of the juveniles do quite well; however, like this particular bird. He grabbed his supper on the first pass showing good form and execution. I love this pose with his head peeking out from behind his wings.
