For those that know me well, know wolves are my favorite wild animal. I've always appreciated their family, pack-orientated behavior and I think they are beautiful. This unique image was created later in the day as the sun was setting behind the tree line in the dove fields of the Mackinaw River Valley in Central, IL. The sun at this angle back-lit the deer, fields, and thousands upon thousands of bugs normally not visible to the human eye in real time. As you can see the valley is bursting with life...nature...

This common yellowthroat stood up proud on his perch singing and showing off his colors as if to say, "check me out!" He provided a pretty song to go with the handsome view.

Artful Hummingbird

I love combining nature with the opportunity to be creative and this image is a perfect example. These little ruby-throated hummingbirds are no bigger than 2.5 - 3.5 inches long and zip among the beautiful wildflowers, which causes them to be easily missed and unappreciated. Well on this particular day, this little hummingbird was very appreciated.
