Cardinal and Blue Jay

I love the way this Blue Jay is staring down that Cardinal, almost as if it is daring it to make a move. Blue Jays can be incredibly territorial, and this one wasn’t about to share its space. Eventually, the standoff ended with the Blue Jay chasing the Cardinal away!

A Great Blue Heron in Autumn

I will try to edit and post more of my encounter with this Great Blue Heron at Dawson Lake last night (10/14/26). It was slowly wading through this shallow part of the lake, and the lighting and colors were just perfect. I wanted to edit this image first, as I love the pose and reflection.

Deer at MVSP

An image from tonight (10/14/26) at Moraine View State Park. I was able to get the fawn in focus while the more mature deer were in the background. It is amazing how getting out in nature, after a day of work, can be so therapeutic.
