A Downy Woodpecker was hopping from tree to tree looking for a meal. it was funny as he made ti to this tree hole and poked his head in looking around as if to say, "anyone home?".

Lake Evergreen Bald Eagle

Here is a local eagle from Lake Evergreen this past week. This is a pretty heavy crop and it was pretty far away but I just have to share when it is one of our local eagles as oppose to my normal Mississippi River eagles. I've been able to photograph them the past 2 winters. I miss going and seeing them so this local eagle will have to do for now....

There are many wonders in this world but the everyday events in nature are some of the most inspiring to me. This is a sequence of a Great Blue Heron fishing. Usually I see them stalk and snag a fish from the bank or a log. I watched this one catch 4 fish that way, but then he perked up as he saw a fish further away. This sequence shows him leaping...
