I was surprised today as I was taking images of a Great Blue Heron on the opposite bank to have this little guy pop up and greet me...or maybe I surprised him. He was certainly curious as he popped up out of the water. I was surprised to see it was an Otter. I found an article from last year talking about the reintroduction of otters to the Mackinaw River and Lake Evergreen. This guy seemed pretty healthy and happy on his morning swim.
