Cuteness Overload of Prairie Dogs

One of the true stars of Theodore Roosevelt National Park was the prairie dogs. Just driving through the park, you will encounter several prairie dog towns, which are full of prairie dogs feeding, burrowing, playing, and fighting. We could sit for hours watching them, and I took thousands of images of them. They were truly the comedic relief of the park. We are still laughing at watching them tumble and roll around. They would occasionally all rear back and make a “yip” sound. These are called jump-yips. They were simply the cutest little animals to watch.
