Sandhill Cranes in Indiana Dunes National Park
My son and I visited Indiana Dunes National Park a couple of weeks ago in search of migrating Sandhill Cranes. We heard them several times and caught a few fleeting glimpses, but it wasn’t until we were driving out of the park that we finally got our best look. There they were—still a good distance away, but close enough for us to capture a few images. After hearing them throughout the day, actually getting a clear view was a pretty exciting way to end our search! I’ve photographed Sandhill Cranes several times in Florida, but seeing them here in the Midwest is always a special treat.
