The Pileated Woodpecker is ABA's 2021 Bird of the Year. It just so happens I spotted my second ever pileated woodpecker this week at Moraine View State Park. I heard it working on a tree and then I heard the call. After I spotted the first, I spotted a second flying a little further in among the trees. Not a bad way to start January, seeing 2 pileated woodpeckers in the first week.
