Tonight I went to Schroeder Nature Preserve near Heyworth to test out a few new camera settings. I recently added a third back-button focusing technique that helps me react quickly to sudden action in nature. I couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity than two Baltimore Orioles getting territorial and chasing each other through the trees for several minutes. Using the new focusing setup, I was able to capture several exciting images of the action. It’s always a welcome sight to see these brilliant flashes of orange and black return for the summer.
