When they fly by this close and this fast, it is challenging for both the photographer and camera/lens to keep up. It takes a combination of decent autofocus/focus speed and panning experience and even then you are guaranteed to come away with a usable photo. Here is one where it all came together to give a nice usable image. This ice was an added bonus to give an interesting backdrop, different form the typical water.
